The Norwich Union Fun in Athletics series for Under 11 athletes kicked off before Christmas, but now the focus turns to Under 13 and Under 15 athletes competing in the Norwich Union sports:hall series.
The grassroots commitment from Norwich Union, worth up to ?2 million ensures future champions who are inspired by the Olympic build up have the ideal place to explore athletics during the winter months.
Current elite athletes who experienced one of their first tastes of athletics in Sportshall events across the country include 2006 Commonwealth Champion Kelly Sotherton, Olympic Gold medallist Mark Lewis Francis, European Silver medallist Jade Johnson and Nathan Douglas, who took Silver in Gothenburg last summer.

?Securing long term investment for Sportshall was one of the main highlights of the Norwich Union?s partnership for athletics through to 2012, and UK Athletics is delighted to be able continue this great competitive structure.
?So many athletes who experienced Sportshall athletics have gone on to enjoy successful athletics careers, and with the Olympics on our doorstep in less than 6 years it is essential to support this programme together with others including Norwich Union Elevating Athletics, star:track and the shine:awards.
